Each student in the Department of European Political and Governance Studies is required to write a Master’s thesis, an original piece of work between 12,000 and 18,000 words, in French or English.
Each student has to write his/her/their Master’s thesis in the framework of one of his/her/their 4 optional courses. Professors supervise students throughout the year for their Master’s thesis. As the Academic year progresses, students have a series of individual interviews with the professor and the academic assistant. After the completion of the thesis, a defence session is held.
Additionally, students will follow a short compulsory course, taking place in the first and second semester, to help them with the conceptualisation of their thesis.
