Tailor-made training on EU accession process for RECONOMY

The College of Europe Executive Education, Training and Projects Office recently delivered an online internal learning workshop on the EU accession process for RECONOMY - an inclusive and green economic development program funded by Sweden and implemented by Helvetas.

Held over four modules, the training brought together participants from across Europe, including the Eastern Partnership and Western Balkan countries. Drawing on their diverse professional backgrounds and experiences, participants engaged with key political, legal, and institutional aspects of EU enlargement, benefiting from in-depth discussions and comparative perspectives across regions.

Each module focused on a distinct dimension of EU accession, from the history of enlargement to current developments in the Western Balkans, Eastern Europe, and the South Caucasus. The training strengthened participants’ capacity to navigate EU dynamics and to connect accession processes with programmatic, fundraising, and partnership decisions.

The modules were delivered by College of Europe trainers and leading experts, bringing together extensive academic expertise and practical policy experience in EU enlargement, accession negotiations, and regional integration, ensuring both analytical depth and real-world relevance for the training.

The College of Europe warmly thanks Helvetas, the RECONOMY team, and all participants for the strong collaboration and active engagement throughout the training.
