The European Neighbourhood Chair of the College of Europe in Natolin is pleased to organise a panel discussion titled: "The Future of Palestine: Scenarios and EU Options" featuring Dr Dalal IRIQAT, Associate Professor at the Arab American University (Palestine), Mr Daniel LEVY, President of the US Middle East Project (London), and Mr Piotr ZALEWSKI, The Economist (Türkiye).
What is the future for Palestine and the Palestinians? It is a key question that lingers over the European neighbourhood but one that policy makers do not ask. The Gaza Strip is destroyed, Israeli settler violence and settlements in the West Bank are at an all-time high, the so called peace camps in Israel and Palestine are almost nonexistent, and Palestinians have been abandoned by their allies. The panel discussion will ask experts from Palestine, Europe and the Middle East about the scenarios for the future of Palestine, the politics of Israel, the role of the United States, regional powers and Europe. Is there still hope for a two-state solution? Will the current violent state of affairs simply continue in the years to come? Will the Palestinians be able to stay in their homeland at all? Why does the EU seem continuously meaningless in this conflict?”
The introduction will be conducted by Dr Patrycja SASNAL, Senior Professorial Fellow, College of Europe Natolin and the moderation will be done by Ms Nour BEN MEFTEH, Academic Assistant, College of Europe Natolin.
The event is a part of the European Neighbourhood Days initiative at Natolin.
