On 19 October 2026, the European Neighbourhood Chair at the College of Europe in Natolin hosts another panel discussion within the Natolin Neighbourhood Days series.
"Towards a Geopolitical Enlargement of the European Union or Business as Usual?"
Enlargement is now firmly back on the agenda of the European Union. The big dilemma that the EU is continuously facing is whether it should allow the geopolitical considerations to dictate the next steps or should it be business as usual. During this event the speakers will focus on recent developments, including the European Commission’s Communication ‘Preparing for a wider Union’ and plans for internal EU reforms required for the next enlargements to happen.
The pannelists include:
- Prof. Julija BRSAKOSKA BAZERKOSKA, Iustinianus Primus Law Faculty, Skopje University
- Prof. Peter VAN ELSUWEGE, Ghent University
- Prof. Adam ŁAZOWSKI, College of Europe, University of Westminster
