Wojciech SOSNOWSKI

Prof. Dr Wojciech SOSNOWSKI is an Associate Professor at the University of Warsaw. He obtained his Ph.D. at the Institute of Slavic Studies, Polish Academy of Sciences, specializing in Slavic linguistics. From 2012 to 2022, he served as an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Slavic Studies of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
He is the author and co-author of 10 books and has published more than 50 academic articles in English, Bulgarian, Polish, Russian, and Ukrainian. His research focuses on the methodology of teaching foreign languages and various linguistic topics, including lexicography and phraseology of Slavic languages, pragmalinguistics (with particular attention to the study of honorifics and forms of address), corpus linguistics (as a co-author of parallel corpora within the CLARIN-PL project), and modality.
At the College of Europe, he published "Polskie czytanki" ("Polish readings") (2 volumes), co-authored with Wioletta GURDAK, and was a member of the editorial team for the scholarly book "Włoskie spacery po Warszawie" ("Italian Walks in Warsaw").
He conducts university-wide classes and lectures on Polish-Russian contrastive grammar and phonetics. Additionally, he has been teaching Russian at the University of Warsaw (Centre for Foreign Language Teaching), gaining extensive experience in teaching Russian to international students at all proficiency levels, as well as in teacher training.
Since 2008, Wojciech SOSNOWSKI has been a member of the Languages and Intercultural Dialogue team at the College of Europe in Natolin.
