Field Trip to ZE PAK’s Pątnów and Konin Power Plants by the Natolin Climate and Energy Transition Nest
On 23 January 2025, the Climate and Energy Transition Nest organized a field visit to the ZE PAK’s Pątnów and Konin Power Plants.
During the visit of the power plants, 20 Natolin students participating in the field trip received special insights into:
- Energy Transition in Action - The group could witness ZE PAK’s innovative transition away from lignite towards renewable energy.
- Firsthand Experience of Strategic Infrastructure - They had the possibility to visit decommissioned and operational facilities, including biomass-based generation units and a green hydrogen electrolyzer.
- Industrial Transformation - They explored the transformation of industrial sites, including plans for turning mining areas into tourist attractions.
Special thanks go to Mr Daniel BALIŃSKI, Environmental and Social Coordinator for Just Transition at ZE PAK, who accompanied our students throughout the field visit and offered a deeper understanding on the company’s strategy and operations.
