28-30 September 2026 / Bruges, Belgium
EU Diplomacy & Diplomatic Skills is an immersive executive education programme exploring the distinctive nature of the European Union as a diplomatic actor and global representative. Unlike the foreign policies of its Member States, the EU’s external action is shaped by a unique institutional framework, a tradition of peace mediation, multilateral engagement, and public diplomacy.
Over three intensive days in the historic city of Bruges, participants examine the EU’s role in international affairs while developing essential diplomatic competencies through interactive sessions and workshops, case studies, and practical exercises. The programme combines strategic insight with hands-on training in three core diplomatic skills: reporting, communicating, and negotiating.
Designed for professionals seeking a deeper understanding of EU diplomacy and enhanced practical capabilities, the course offers a unique opportunity to explore how diplomacy is conducted within and through the European Union.
Note from the Course Director
“In today’s rapidly changing world, diplomatic skills are becoming ever more important, also in EU foreign affairs. This interactive training offers practical insights into making political analysis, public diplomacy, and negotiation techniques most effective.”
