Enhancing Cooperation with Major Players in Conflict Prevention

Madariaga Report - 19 April, 2007

The workshop "Enhancing Cooperation with Major Players in Conflict Prevention", held on 19 April 2007 in Brussels, assembled state representatives of Canada, China, Japan and the United States, alongside European Union officials, for a brainstorming discussion on the prospects of improved action and enhanced cooperation between the European Union and some of the major actors in conflict prevention. Supported by the German Presidency of the EU, it was the third event to take place in the framework of the two-year programme "Conflict Prevention - Creating a Leading Role for the European Union" launched in January 2006 by the Madariaga European Foundation and the Folke Bernadotte Academy, in close cooperation with the EU Council Secretariat, the European Commission and the EU Presidencies.
