In an increasingly interdependent world, innovative approaches must be developed to respond to a new and expanding array of security challenges. Climate change, the management of natural resources, international organised crime, poverty and hunger, are amongst the issues at the core of the global security agenda. The European Union has put conflict prevention at the heart of its Security Strategy, basing its approach on the principles of comprehensiveness and effective multilateralism. The Foundation, by means of conferences, seminars and publications, engages the full spectrum of relevant actors to strengthen European conflict prevention capacities and to promote the role of the EU as a leading global actor.
