| How to Cope with Tax Havens? |
|
13:00 - Wednesday, 24 June 2009 This seminar, organised in cooperation with the European Economic and Social Committee, looked into the issue of tax havens in the aftermath of the credit crunch. As lots of governmental and non-governmental actors call for a moralisation of cross-border financial practices, it seems to be clear that the issue of offshore financial centres should finally be addressed. But should it be considered as just a moral issue or should it be approached in the light of a structural assessment of its long-term effects on the real economy and social imbalances? Speakers included, amongst others: John Monks, Philippe de Buck, Christian Chavagneux, Walter Deffaa. For a detailed presentation of the programme, click here. |
